In Focus: APEC Study Centre Consortium 2014


The annual conference provides an opportunity for academics and scholars to discuss their research and to identify areas for regional collaboration.

The 2015 conference will be hosted by the Philippin Institute for Development Studies (PIDS) in Boracay, Philippines in May. See more at ASCC 2015.

The conference in 2014 met in Qiangdao on May 11-12, 2014, alongside the SOM2. During the two-day conference, academics and researchers of national APEC Study Centres gave presentations, discussed and shared insights on trade and APEC-related issues.

The Consortium The consortium's agenda was based on the four priorities of China's chairmanship of APEC. The discussion of the measures to increase trade and investment liberalization and economic integration focused on: (1) New trend of Asia-Pacific economic integration; (2) Comprehensive connectivity and infrastructure development; and (3) innovative development, economic reform and growth.
