HK to host 2014 APEC Finance Ministerial Meetings

As China will assume chairmanship of APEC 2014, Hong Kong is chosen as the city to hold the APEC Finance Ministerial Meetings in Septmber 2014. At the APEC Finance Ministerial Meetings in Bali in September, Financial Secretary John Tsang said the Hong Kong Government was honored to hold the meeting, highlighting the important role of Hong Kong as an international financial center.

The annual APEC Finance Ministerial Meetings gather Finance ministers, as well as senior central bank officials of APEC member economies, to discuss issues concerning financial and economic cooperations in the APEC region. Mr Tsang said, this will provide a valuable opportunity for Hong Kong to to promote the latest development of our financial sector and our economic co-operation with APEC member economies, thereby reinforcing and enhancing Hong Kong's role as an international financial centre.
